With a hefty starting MSRP of $72,000, the casual observer might expect the 2007 Audi S6 to have better fuel efficiency than its projected 15 mpg in the city and 21 on the highway. What the casual observer would not see, however, is that the S6 zooms onto the scene with a 435 horsepower, 5.2 liter V10 engine. It's also got Audi's "Quattro" all-wheel drive system, and a six-speed automatic transmission that has both overdrive and the proprietary "Tiptronic" technology that allows manual gear shifting, both standard.
As with its smaller, less powerful cousin the S4, the S6 comes with a full array of standard airbags, including front and side protection for the front and back seats, as well as overhead protection for both rows. There is also a sensor to determine whether or not the front passenger seat is occupied. Safety features also include a complimentary first aid kit, and child-proof locks on the back doors.
Interior features of the S6 include a choice of a silver or black color scheme, and a driver's seat with eight power-adjustable positions, as well as satellite radio capability. In addition there's a 6-disc cd changer mounted in the glove compartment, the audio system includes Bose speakers and MP3 playback. and the car is also Bluetooth ready.
For a technophile who loves speed, or just a family with a yen for a sophisticated drive, the 2007 Audi S6 is an excellent choice in a performance sports sedan.
